Der Kryostat stellt das für den Betrieb des Detektors notwendige Temperaturniveau von weniger als 20 Millikelvin sicher. Die Kühlleistung der zum Kryostaten gehörigen Pulse Tube hat sich zuletzt altersbedingt so stark verringert, dass ein Betrieb des Detektorsystems nicht mehr möglich ist. Da die verbaute Pulse Tube vom Typ CRYOMECH PT410 nicht mehr hergestellt wird, ist ein Upgrade auf den verfügbaren Typ CRYOMECH PT415 notwendig.
